The Best Kind of Binge: The Fourth Trimester Netflix Queue

The ladies of Intown Doula wanted to celebrate #WorldDoulaWeek by giving our readers a treat: an expertly compiled list of must-see shows on Netflix that you can binge watch in the fourth trimester. We hope you enjoy!

Richée's Picks

Doctor Who. "It should be said, I had to fight Heather for dibs on this one! I like DW for the good mix of fun and serious with lovable leads, and watching one episode can actually be satisfying."

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. "I really wanted to be able to laugh postpartum and since the episode are only about 22 minutes, you can get a good chuckle on during a nursing session." (We joke that this is our Official Company Show; everyone has seen every episode and we reference it frequently!)

MMT's Picks

How I Met Your Mother. "If you haven't seen How I Met Your Mother from the beginning at least once, there is no better time to do that then the fourth trimester. The soundtrack is so choice and such a vital character in the show, plus the characters remind me of my group of friends from college--and I bet a lot of people can say that."

Lost. "My husband and I were so late to the party that we didn't see Lost until ten years after it started. The reason I recommend it for the fourth trimester is that you're so sleep-deprived and kind of mentally 'out there' that the plot doesn't seem beyond the realm of possible reality. Suspension of disbelief is a lot easier when you're getting half the sleep you normally do!"

Heather's Picks

Sherlock."I <3 <3 <3 me some Benedict Cumberbatch!" (Heather feels there is no need for additional reasons to watch the show; later on she mentioned something about the stories staying true to the Arthur Conan Doyle stories, but really, it mostly that first thing. The rest of stand behind her in full agreement.)

Downton Abbey. "The characters' lives draw you in, you just become engrossed. Also, I love the costumes and how the show stays pretty accurate historically while never being dry."

Lori's Picks

Scandal. "Pure trash TV. Also, fashion and hot dudes." We love a person with priorities! ;)

Call the Midwife. "It can be heavy at times, but I am a glutton for punishment when I'm hormonal, for better or worse."
