Sometimes It Snows In April

We have been super busy down here in Atlanta, so now is the time to bring you all up to speed on the who, what, why, and how with Intown Doula during April.

Intown Doula moved this month to a new home base. It is a work in progress but we are so excited and couldn't wait to show you. Here are some pictures, as we are still underway but quite happy with the changes so far! You know what they say, the family that remodels offices together, stays together! They say that...right?

More pics to follow as we fit all the pieces into place.

If you haven't heard yet, Intown Doula announced the cancellation of the No Child Wet Behind Diaper Drive and 5k Family Fun Run. It was with great sadness but we will be returning next year! You can find all of the information here about this year's cancellation.

Although the event itself has been cancelled, Intown Doula is still collecting diaper donations for the Atlanta Mission until May 17th and there are several drop off locations around the area, you can find them listed here.

If you are interested in making a donation to No Child Wet Behind you may do so directly via their website

On a happier note, MMT became the second Postpartum Placenta Specialist in Georgia! (Right before her birthday, April 29th! Happy Birthday MMT!) The first PPS is also a member of the Intown Doula family, our very own Richee. We are so proud of our Intown crew.

So, what exactly does a Postpartum Placenta Specialist do, you ask? Our trained Postpartum Placenta Specialist will sit down with you for an educational meeting, walk you through our guidelines and when the time has come, we will begin the process of placenta encapsulation. Intown Doula will be happy to answer any questions you may have about this process and you can read more about it here

If you are interested in more information about this and other services Intown Doula offers please contact us today!

Intown Doula became the liaison for the FIRST EVER Virtually Present in Atlanta

Virtually Present is a hands-on 10 hour workshop that covers a wide array of topics and focuses on combining modern day technology with old school business. This workshop is lead by Randy Patterson of ProDoula and Erica Patterson of Yellow Jacket Social. You can find all the details for this upcoming event on the ProDoula website. You don't want to miss this opportunity!

Virtually Present will be coming to Atlanta August 9th, register here.

After some pondering, we came to the conclusion that maybe there is deeper meaning to April showers bringing May flowers so bring it on! There is so much to look forward to and we can't wait to see what comes next. Check back with Intown Doula on Facebook and Instagram for updates and latest events happening around here!

I was dreaming when I wrote this, forgive me if it goes astray....I haven't had my starfish and coffee, maple syrup and jam yet but hey, hey, hey wake up, it's a new day!  Sometimes it snows in April, sometimes I feel so bad, so bad. Sometimes I wish that life was never ending but all good things they say never last, Rest in Peace Prince. You're music will forever live on and we appropriately close out April with heads held high because we are beautiful, loved and blessed, you feel me? We are gathered here today to get through this thing called life, we're all excited but we don't know why. Maybe this is what it FEELS like when the doves cry. (Rest in Power, our love, our Prince)
