Getting to Know Your Doula: Aida Reluzco-Stokes

We wanted to do something really fun, so we had all of our doulas complete what is known as the Pivot questionnaire--you know, the same one James Liption closes with at the end of Inside the Actor's Studio. We believe Intown Doula staffs the best doulas in Atlanta, and this series should serve to show you just a small peek at why we think they're so great!

1. What is your favorite word?

"Yes.", generally speaking.

2. What is your least favorite word?

I have been thinking about this all day. I can't really think of words that I dislike purely on its own, without context other than racial slurs. I'm here to tell you that "moist" is A-ok in my book.

3. What turns you on?

Dark humor, video games, sci-fi and dessert.

4. What turns you off?

Rudeness and poor hygiene.

5. What sound or noise do you love?

Okay, so I really love melancholy classical music. The kind with a lonely piano or with strings. Keep the trumpets at home, I'm here for Chopin. Also the sounds of babies cracking up.

6. What sound or noise do you hate?

MOUTH SOUNDS AND THE SAXOPHONE. Unless, of course, it's Careless Whispers. Particularly, Careless Whispers played by a seal in a pool with an inflatable saxophone. I cover my ears to the sound of kissing or slurping or general oral moisture.

7. What is your favorite curse word?

See you next Tuesday!

8. What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?

I would become a tattoo artist, for sure.

9. What profession would you not like to do?

Plumbing. I can't imagine wading in crap and old tampons for any amount of money.

10.If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?

"Oh good, you made it, we set up Cards Against Humanity and Jesus brought the beer."
